Environmental Management Inspectorate Courses:
These courses focus on the generic procedures and activities that EMIs would need to perform in the execution of their functions.
These courses include the EMI Basic Training Course, which seeks to build the foundation skills and knowledge of the attendee in the broad areas of legislation, compliance inspections, administrative and criminal enforcement. In addition, there have been a number of advanced courses, which focus on specific areas of compliance and enforcement that are of equal relevance for EMIs operating in the “blue”, “green” and “brown” sub-sectors. These topics include the management of criminal dockets, interviewing skills and techniques, administrative enforcement.
These types of courses are designed to be of general applicability to all EMIs engaged in a specific compliance and enforcement function, without a detailed focus on either the “green”, “blue” and “brown” sub-sectors.
