    4. This eLearning website is only open for registration by state officials that are legally eligible for designation as EMIs. According to section 31A, BA, BB and C of NEMA, only staff members of national, provincial and local authorities and other organs of state may be designated as an EMI.
    5. Access to this website is therefore restricted to:
      • officials employed by government departments or organs of state whose existing job description substantively includes compliance and enforcement with NEMA and/or the SEMAs; and requires the EMI Basic Training Course in order to become designated as an EMIs and execute their job description accordingly; and
      • State officials that are already trained and designated as EMIs, and wish to register for an Advanced or Specialised online course.
    6. Members of the public, and any person that falls outside of the scope of those persons mentioned above, will not be able to register on this eLearning website.
    7. Users that are registered on this website may not disseminate their usernames and/or passwords to any other person for the purposes of allowing them to access this site.

Personal information use; Personal information is used only for limited purposes that are directly linked to the management of EMI training courses and modules, including, but not limited to when a user registers with the website to enable them to gain access to the E-Learning website. The DEFF may use this information to verify that the user is eligible for access to the website in accordance with 1 above, and communicate with the user in relation to courses and modules offered on this website.

Access to personal information; If personal information has been submitted to this website, users who wish to review their personal information may do so by logging in and viewing and editing their information at their convenience. Users will then be able to access their user profile, correct and update their details. Users who have any problem accessing their profiles, or would like to request a copy of their personal information should make use of the forgotten password on the ‘login’ page. If the user does not have access to a valid/ working email address, the user will need to contact the administrator using the ‘contact us’ link. In all cases DEFF will treat requests to access information or change information in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
